Why Barcelona will wear Tyler, The Creator’s GOLF logo in El Clásico

Barcelona’s next Clásico shirt will carry four yellow letters across the chest: GOLF. The retail Player’s Edition will carry another identifier inside, a number showing where it belongs in a run of 1,899.

GOLF is the wordmark of Tyler, The Creator’s fashion label, GOLF WANG. Its football history includes a 2022 collection modeled by then-Barcelona defender Héctor Bellerín, with shirts, shorts and tracksuits carrying the brand’s own GWFC, or Golf Wang Football Club, identity.

The men will wear the new shirt against Real Madrid at Spotify Camp Nou on Sunday, October 25. Barça Femení will debut it a day earlier, against Granada at Estadi Johan Cruyff on Saturday, October 24.

GOLF will take the space normally reserved for Spotify’s logo through the streaming company’s partnership with Barcelona. Tyler becomes the ninth artist in a series that began with Drake in 2022 and has since featured Rosalía, the Rolling Stones, KAROL G, Coldplay, Travis Scott, Ed Sheeran and Olivia Rodrigo.

For this release, Tyler and GOLF WANG have creative control over the audiovisual and graphic campaign, a first for the partnership, according to Barcelona. Tyler has also directed a short film for the launch, putting his work behind the camera as well as his brand in front of it.

A Clásico shirt with a collector’s price

The 1,899-shirt Player’s Edition takes its production number from Barcelona’s founding year. Each shirt is individually numbered and comes with a certificate bearing the same number. At the European store’s listed price, it costs roughly $560 (€499.99).

The signed versions sit at a different price level. Just 11 shirts will carry Tyler’s autograph, priced at approximately $3,362 (€2,999.99) each. Barcelona has also announced 22 player-signed shirts across the men’s and women’s offering.

The wider clothing collection offers less expensive options: a T-shirt at the equivalent of about $78 and a short-sleeve lifestyle jersey at roughly $157. That separate jersey puts the collaboration within a different budget from the numbered match-quality edition.

There are letterman and track jackets, retro jerseys and a leopard-print tracksuit, too. These pieces give GOLF room to work outside the familiar blue and garnet match shirt. While the front-of-shirt wordmark is the most immediate change on the pitch, the clothing range carries the partnership into shapes and patterns of its own.

Designer branding has already found space in football’s pre-match wardrobe, including Jacquemus’s France pre-match shirt. GOLF’s logo will stay in view after kickoff, on the shirt Barcelona wear against their biggest rival.

Spotify’s earlier artist collaborations established much of this format. The Rolling Stones edition brought the partnership’s first lifestyle collection in 2023. Travis Scott’s Cactus Jack release added apparel and a Barcelona concert in 2025. GOLF arrives with both an existing clothing business and its own earlier interpretation of a football club’s wardrobe.

Away from the stadium, Spotify will stage Copa De Golf in Barcelona on October 24, with Yung Taco headlining the DJ lineup. The evening falls on the same date as the women’s shirt debut and the night before the men’s Clásico.

The women get the first match. The men get the Clásico. Both will wear the same four letters.
