Pep Guardiola has renewed his appeal for Palestinians, urging people to support the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) and keep paying attention to the suffering of children in Gaza.

The former Manchester City manager speaks in Spanish in the video, which UNRWA España published with English subtitles. “Solidarity with Palestine cannot take a break. Neither can our responsibility.”

Guardiola describes children trying to find their parents in the rubble and struggling with hunger. He objects to language that reduces people to casualty figures, asking viewers to consider the individuals and families those numbers represent.

UNRWA España raises funds and awareness for the United Nations agency for Palestinian refugees. Guardiola asks viewers who can contribute to help the agency continue delivering aid, and the post carrying his message includes a donation request.

Guardiola also argues that Palestinians shouldn’t have to keep proving their resilience. He speaks about displacement across generations and says children shouldn’t have to spend their childhood learning how to survive. His appeal puts responsibility on those watching to help where they can.

Palestinian children at Guardiola’s summer camp

Guardiola also spent time with Palestinian children at his football camp this summer, asking about the situation in their country, according to Fundación Guardiola Sala.

The group of 28 boys and girls attended the sixth Pep Summer Camp in Rialp, in the Lleida Pyrenees. They joined the camp’s age groups alongside other young players.

His earlier public support for Palestinians has also included appearances away from the pitch. On January 29, he spoke at the Concert-Manifesto x Palestine at Barcelona’s Palau Sant Jordi. Footage from that event shows him wearing a keffiyeh and addressing the audience from the stage.

In the new UNRWA video, Guardiola speaks directly to the camera in front of bookshelves. He closes by asking people who are able to help to support the agency’s work.
